Founded in 2022, the Pretoria Capitals are a professional South African Twenty20 franchise that will be competing in the inaugural season of the highly anticipated SA20 Tournament. This year the Pretoria Capitals will be coached by the internationally experienced Graham Ford (Sri Lanka and Ireland) along with assistant coaches Jacques Kallis and Dale Benkenstein. The former being widely considered as the greatest cricketer ever by both past and present players.
The franchise is owned by the JSW Group which is the same owner of the IPL team Deli Capitals. The team is based in Pretoria, South Africa and will play its home matches at Centurion Park Cricket Ground a favored venue for South African internationals since 1992. For the first edition of the tournament the current squad is filled with internationally experienced All-Rounders such as James Neesham, Adil Rashid and Captain Wayne Parnell. With such a balanced squad that has plenty of bowling options and a deep batting lineup the Pretoria Capitals are priced slightly behind favorites MI Cape Town, paying 7/2 for this year’s title.
