Founded in 2022, the Joburg Super Kings are a professional South African franchise competing in the SA20 tournament. Heading into the third edition of the competition, the team will be led by New Zealand cricket legend Stephen Fleming as head coach, with South African icon Faf du Plessis captaining the side. Du Plessis is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s finest all-format captains, renowned for leading the team to series victories against Australia in both Test and ODI formats, both at home and abroad.
Owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, the Joburg Super Kings carry the signature yellow of their parent franchise, a color synonymous with the global cricketing powerhouse in India. Based in Johannesburg, the team plays its home games at the world-famous Wanderers Stadium, widely known as The Bullring due to its electrifying atmosphere.
